The students have decorated their 'day of the dead' paper magiclay sculptures with textas.
The students have been studying 'Starry Night' by Vincent van Gogh. They have used oil pastels to depict a similar scene. The students have been using foam filters as paint brushes. They have painted a picture which integrates various brush strokes and line making skills, using acrylic paints. The students have been investigating the 'day of the dead' festival in Mexico. They are in the process of using paper magiclay to sculpt their own skull. The students have looked at Art from the Impressionist movement and studied the work of artists including VanGogh, Monet and Seurat. They are in the process of using pointillism to create their own landscape. The students have used diluted paint and let it run across their page. Once dried, they have used twistables, watercolour paint and pencils to transform their abstract paintings into aerial landscape views. Well done grade 5! The students have used textas to illustrate a story, told to them during the class. A little like dictation with pictures, not words! Although all of the students drew the same elements, their work is all very different. |
