The students have painted a watercolour background. This session, they have used 'supertac' to add a figure onto their dried landscape. They have cut pieces of material in order to make clothes for their character. Details have been added with textas.

The students have been learning about primary colours - red, yellow and blue. We have been collaging pictures with cover paper, using the three primary colours. It is an excellent idea for parents to practise cutting skills with your children. Just draw some lines onto a piece of photocopy paper and the children cut along the lines!
The grade 6 students have had their second session of Life Drawing. The poses this week were much more complex, and involved the students examining angles within the poses. Their work is awesome, and I am so proud of their efforts thus far!
The grade 6 students have started a small unit on life drawing. One student has acted as the model, with the remainder of the class drawing them. Students have considered angles, negative and positive shapes, as well as proportions.
The students have been learning about the 'wax resist' technique. Firstly, they filled their page with lines, drawn with twistables. Then they used watercolour paints over the top. It is pleasing that most children have their own art smock, however these need to be clearly named!
The students explored colour mixing with primary coloured acrylic paint last week. This week they have cut one painting into a variety of shapes and used supertac as an adhesive for these collages.
The students have chosen a funny animal face picture. They have started to create a background for their creature, using their imagination.
The students have completed a drawing exercise based on pieces by Howard Arkley, with links to symmetry.
